Oregon State Offensive Line Named Semifinalist For Joe Moore Award

Nov 23, 2021

NEW YORK – Oregon State's offensive line has been selected as a semifinalist for the Joe Moore Award, it was announced on Tuesday. The Beavers are one of 13 teams recognized for the honor, which is given to the nation's top offensive line.

The selection committee judges each offensive line on six criteria: toughness, effort, teamwork, consistency, technique and finishing.

The Oregon State offensive line, coached by Jim Michalczik, has paved the way for the Beavers' rushing attack, which ranks ninth nationally and first in the Pac-12 at 229.4 yards per game.

OSU has also given up just 10 sacks, which is the sixth-fewest nationally. Overall, the Beavers have allowed just 37 tackles for loss, the third-fewest in the nation.

Finalists for the honor will be announced December 7 and the 2021 winner will be announced at a later date.

Oregon State plays at Oregon Saturday in Eugene. Kickoff is slated for 12:35 p.m. PT on ESPN. The Oregon State-Oregon rivalry series is presented by Safeway-Albertsons, Spirit Mountain Casino, PacificSource Health Plans, Your Local Toyota Dealers and First Interstate Bank.
