Devin Lloyd Named Semifinalist for Lott IMPACT Trophy Award

NEWPORT BEACH, Calif. – University of Utah linebacker Devin Lloyd has been named a semifinalist for the 2021 Lott IMPACT Trophy, announced today by the Pacific Club IMPACT Foundation.

The Lott IMPACT Trophy recognizes student-athletes for their on and off the field contributions. Lloyd is one of eight semifinalists with the award winner being announced on Dec. 12.

Through week 13, Lloyd is the highest ranked linebacker in the Pac-12 by Pro Football Focus (89.2 overall grade). He ranks second in the FBS this season in tackles for loss (22.0), recording at least one tackle for loss in 10 games this season.

His 8.0 sacks ranks second overall in the Pac-12, also leading all linebackers in the category. The Butkus Award Finalist is the only Power Five linebacker with 15+ tackles for loss and two or more interceptions this season.

His three interceptions in 2021 are tied for the most by a Power Five linebacker and is one of just five linebackers in the Power Five to have a pick-six among their three interceptions.

Lloyd's 99 total tackles through 12 games ranks third in the Pac-12 and in the top 45 in the FBS, averaging 8.2 per game. His 8.2 tackles per game ranks eighth among linebackers on College Football Playoff-ranked teams.

Lloyd and the Utes will return to action on Friday, Dec. 3 when they take on the Oregon Ducks in the Pac-12 Championship game. The game is set to kick off at 6 p.m. MT in Las Vegas, Nev., on ABC.
