Nov 30, 2021

SEATTLE -- Former Husky All-American Jack Rowe earned one of his biggest results this past weekend when he won the British Athletics Cross Challenge in Liverpool, which served as the trials for the Great Britain team for the European Cross Country Championships.

Rowe, who ran his senior season for the Huskies in 2019-20, and qualified for the NCAA Indoor Championships in the 3,000-meters, won in a time of 28:05 over a course measured at 9.8 kilometers. He finished 11 seconds ahead of runner-up Andy Butchart, a two-time Olympian.

Rowe will now lead the British squad at the European Championships on Dec. 12 in Dublin, Ireland.

Current Husky Brian Fay, who just earned All-America honors leading the Huskies to 13th-place at the NCAA Championships, is also expected to compete at the European Championships in his home country, running for Ireland.
