Defensive back Quentin Lake of the football team has been selected the UCLA Student-Athlete of the Week, presented by Ready, for Nov. 22-28.
Lake was credited with a team-high six tackles and added an interception in UCLA's 42-14 win over Cal. The Bruin defense pitched a shutout in the second half against the Golden Bears and held the Cal offense under 200 yards in the game until its final drive of the contest. Cal finished with a Bruin opponent season-low of 217 yards of total offense on the night (92 rush - 125 pass). It marked the third time in the last four games that the Bruin secondary had limited opponent passing attacks to less than 200 yards in a contest. The theft was Lake's team-high tying third pick of the season and helped end any Cal chances for a late first half scoring drive.
This is Lake's first UCLA student-athlete of the week award of the season and of his career.
