USC Men’s Tennis Welcomes Wojciech Marek To Troy

Nov 30, 2021

LOS ANGELES — USC men's tennis welcomes another midseason addition with the signing of Wojciech Marek to join the Trojans in Spring 2022, head coach Brett Masi has announced today (Nov. 30). An accomplished competitor out of Poland, Marek has claimed multiple Polish titles and was ranked No. 1 in the Polish rankings from age 12-18.

"It's a great day to be a Trojan! The past few days there has been really exciting news here at USC," Masi said. "With his experience, having a player of Wojciech's caliber will really make this team tough at all spots top to bottom. I can't wait to get him to campus and start working with him this spring."

In addition to his Polish championships, Marek has been a member of Poland's National Team and Davis Cup team. He won the bronze medal at the European Championship as an under-14, and claimed silver at the event as an under-18. He's also been a finalist in singles and doubles at 15K events and currently ranks No. 657 in singles and No. 1014 in doubles in the ATP rankings. At the Junior ATF World level, he stands at No. 35.

"Wojciech is a huge pickup for this team and will help us compete for championships this season," Masi added of Marek. "He is a player that wants to play at the next level, and that's what we are all about here at USC — helping our players get ready for the pro tour and the next step in life!"

Marek joins true freshman Ryan Colby as USC's newest additions to the roster. Both will join the Trojans in January 2022 for competition starting this spring.
