Mac May Named UCLA Student-Athlete of Week
Outside hitter Mac May of the women's volleyball team has been selected the UCLA Student-Athlete of the Week, presented by Ready, for Nov. 29-Dec. 5.
May led the Bruins in the NCAA first and second round matches with 46 combined kills, including 25 in the second round victory over UCF, as UCLA advanced to the Regional Semifinals. May, the Fall 2021 Pac-12 Player of the Year, closed out her last season in Pauley Pavilion presented by Wescom with a 12-0 record for UCLA's first undefeated home slate since the 1999 season. She climbed up UCLA's all-time kills list to No. 3 with 2,048 career kills, passing Liz Masakayan (2,044, 1982-85), as well as tied for third all-time on the Bruins' ace list with 177 aces. Over her last five matches, May is averaging a team-high 1.11 aces per set (21 total).
This is May's third UCLA student-athlete of the week award of the season and fifth of her career.
