Sun Devils Bolster Roster with Eight Signees
TEMPE - Head coach Zeke Jones announced the signings of eight elite wrestlers today. The Sun Devils welcomed No. 28 Emilio Ysaguirre, No. 15 Kaleb Larkin, No. 13 Michael Kilic, Caleb Vanbuskirk, Carter Dibert, Corey Camden, Diego Chavez and Damion Schunke to the fold. The class features multiple athletes who've competed at Junior National tournaments and earned a plethora of state titles, and academically they average a 3.89 grade point average.
Ysaguiire, Larkin and Chavez all hail from State 48, while ASU's strong connection to the California wrestling scene continues with the addition of Vanbuskirk.

The 28th-ranked recruit in the nation is staying in Arizona! 2021 Junior Nationals runner-up Emilio Ysaguirre claimed silver at the 2019 One True Champion event where he wrestled at 120. He went on to win the Terminator World Championships for 15U at 123 pounds and was third at the Indianamat Hoosier preseason open in 2020. Ysaguirre won the 2019 AIA Division 4 state title at 120 after claiming two Schoolboy 11 crowns the year prior in Greco-Roman and freestyle. Ysaguirre peaked at No. 13 in the country earlier this year.
Carter Dibert – (Murrysville, Pennsylvania––125/133lbs.)

In four seasons at Franklin Regional High School, Dibert compiled a high school record of 150-16, which included winning a state title. Dibert only lost one match in his senior season, finishing second in the Pennsylvania state tournament.
Dilbert is the seventh ranked 126-pounder in the country, and planning on majoring in business, he will be the first in his family to play a collegiate sport.
Michael Kilic – (Marietta, Georgia-- 151lbs.)

A three-time individual state champion posted almost 40 victories in high school, Kilic had eight victories at the 2021 Junior National Duals, four of them tech-falls across both freestyle and Greco-Roman. Kilic is a three time national champion in the 151 weight class and is a two time Fargo All-American & Greco champion. Heading into Fargo, Kilic was ranked 13th nationally at 145. He has three brothers and two sisters and is the son of Bobby and Jan Kilic.
Kaleb Larkin – (GIlbert, Arizona -- 151lbs.)

Staying in Arizona, Kaleb Larkin won the Arizona–USAW National Qualifier in April this year. Larkin was an NHSCA runner-up in 2019 and took fourth place at the Greco Nationals in Fargo that same year. In 2021 he finished sixth at the Junior World Team Trials, wrestling freestyle. Heading into Fargo 2021, Larkin ranked 15th at 145
His father, Eric Larkin, competed and coached for the Sun Devils. The senior Larkin was a national champion at 149 in 2003 and went on to win the Dan Hodge Award. Eric was a four-time All-American and was a four-time Pac-10 champion too. Kaleb has five siblings and his mother is Melissa Larkin.
Caleb Vanbuskirk - (Bermuda Dunes, California – 197/HWT)
Vanbuskirk joins Arizona State from Palm Desert High School where he earned All-American status, was a three-times masters qualifier, three-time conference champion and two-time state qualifier. He peaked at No. 8 at 220 lbs in California. Vanbuskirk has five siblings and is the son to Dennis and Rachelle Vanbuskirk.
Corey Camden - (The Woodlands, Texas – 138 lbs.)
The Woodlands, Texas, native Corey Camden joins ASU from College Park high school where he was the runner-up in the 6A-132 class his junior year. Camden is a NHSCA All-American, took second at 14U USAW Nationals, third at 15U UWW World Trials, and was a 16U Duals All-American. Camden was also a 14U freestyle national champion and finished fourth 14U Greco-Roman nationals.

Diego Chavez – (Phoenix, Arizona -- 195lbs.)

Phoenix native Diego Chavez has won three consecutive individual state titles since January 2020 - two at 182, and one at 195. Chavez has seven tournament titles since 2018, and finished the 2020-21 season undefeated. Chavez placed first in the AZ–USAW qualifier in April and placed first in the 2021 Western Regional Championship in both freestyle and Greco-roman.
Damion Schunke - (Brandon, South Dakota – 188lbs.)
Brandon, South Dakota, native Damion Schunke is a NHSCA All-American, two-time state champ at 160 and 182lbs., ranked ninth in the country in his class, and was a 2019 Fargo All-American in both freestyle and Greco-Roman. The national honor society-member has four siblings and is the son of Jennifer and Tony Schunke.
