McDuffie Earned AP All-America Third Team

Dec 13, 2021

Washington cornerback Trent McDuffie has been named to the Associated Press All-America third team, the AP announced today.

McDuffie, a junior from Westminster, Calif., played in and started 11 of the Huskies' 12 games in 2021, and earned first-team All-Pac-12. He finished the season with 35 tackles and six pass break-ups. Pro Football Focus recently noted that his rating over the past three seasons is best in the Pac-12 Conference.

The honor marks the fourth year in a row, and the fifth in the last six years, that a Husky defensive back has earned some level of All-America honors. Elijah Molden was a second-team selection each of the last two years (2019, 2020), while both Byron Murphy and Taylor Rapp earned second-team honors in 2018. In 2016, Budda Baker was named to numerous All-America first teams (and several second teams), while Sidney Jones made one first-team and two second-team lists.
