USC Men's Basketball Soars To No. 10 In AP Top 25 Rankings

Dec 13, 2021

LOS ANGELES — USC men's basketball soared six spots in the AP Top 25 poll to No. 10 after wins at home over Eastern Kentucky and Long Beach State last week.

No. 10 is the Trojans' highest ranking in the AP Top 25 since opening the 2017-18 season at 10th. USC finished the 2020-21 season at No. 9 in the USA Today Coaches poll following the Trojans' Elite Eight run in the NCAA Tournament.

The Trojans (10-0, 2-0 Pac-12) are also ranked No. 9 in the current USA Today Coaches Poll and 14th in the latest edition of the NET, the chief rankings used for the NCAA Tournament selection and seeding.

USC remains as one of seven undefeated teams left in the country, along with Baylor (No. 1), Arizona (8), Iowa State (11), LSU (19), Colorado State (23) and San Francisco.

USC joins Pac-12 teams UCLA (No. 4) and Arizona (8) in the AP Top 10. The Trojans will host the Wildcats at the Galen Center on Jan. 2.

The Trojans conclude their three-game road trip on Wednesday against UC Irvine. USC wraps up non-conference play with neutral-site classics against Georgia Tech in Phoenix and against Oklahoma State in Oklahoma City before resuming Pac-12 play.
