Jaquez Jr. Named UCLA Student-Athlete of Week
Jaime Jaquez Jr. of the men's basketball team has been selected the UCLA Student-Athlete of the Week, presented by Ready, for Dec. 6-12.
The junior guard/forward totaled a season-high 24 points and grabbed 12 rebounds to guide the Bruins past Marquette, 67-56, in a non-conference showdown in Milwaukee, Wis., on Saturday evening. Jaquez Jr. made 7 of 16 shots from the field, including 3 of 5 attempts from 3-point range. He scored 14 points in the first half, making all three of his 3-pointers before halftime, to help UCLA secure a 23-point lead 15 minutes into the game. Jaquez Jr. has averaged 14.8 points and 6.6 rebounds in nine contests this season.
This is Jaquez Jr.'s third UCLA student-athlete of the week award of the season and fifth of her career.
