Pair Earns All-America Honors

STANFORD, Calif. – Caitie Baird and Kendall Kipp have been named second team All-Americans, the American Volleyball Coaches Association announced today.

The selections bring Stanford's total AVCA All-America award count to 107 honors spread over 44 players. It is the first career recognition for Baird and Kipp. The Cardinal has produced multiple All-Americans in the same season in 16 of the past 17 years.

Baird, an outside hitter from Indianapolis, led the team and ranked third in the Pac-12 with 4.24 kills per set and 4.83 points per set. She was also third on the team with 2.15 digs per set. She was second on the squad with eight double-doubles, bringing her career count to 13. A two-time Pac-12 Offensive Player of the Week, she had a career-high 26 kills on a career-best .543 attack percentage against Washington on Nov. 11.

Kipp, an opposite from Newport Beach, was second on the team and sixth in the Pac-12 with 3.85 kills per set. She ranked fourth in the conference with 4.66 points per set and 10th in hitting percentage (.339). Kipp recorded double-digit kills in 24 matches and hit .300 or better on 19 occasions.

Stanford closed out the 2021 campaign at 19-11 overall and advanced to the second round of the NCAA Tournament, its 40th appearance all-time.
