Bruins Wrap 2021 at UNLV Invitational
The UCLA swim and dive team will compete for the final time of the 2021 calendar year this weekend, as the squad heads east for the 2021 UNLV Swim Invitational. The three-day meet runs from Friday through Sunday at Jim Reitz Pool on the campus of UNLV.
Besides the Bruins and host Rebels, the invitational will feature squads from Pacific, The Master's University, and Fresno Pacific.
UNLV will stream all three days of the meet on YouTube, and live results will be available via the MeetMobile app.
Day one events include the 200 free relay, 500 free, 200 IM, 50 free, and 400 medley relay.
Day two brings the 200 medley relay, 400 IM, 100 fly, 200 free, 100 breast, 100 back, and 800 free relay.
The meet concludes on Sunday with the 1650 free, 100 IM, 200 back, 100 free, 200 breast, 200 fly, and 400 free relay.
While the team's swimmers are in Las Vegas, UCLA's divers will compete against San Diego State on Friday and Saturday in a pair of home-and-away exhibitions.
The Bruins are 2-2 so far this year in dual meet competition, and are coming off a fifth-place finish at the loaded Ohio State Fall Invitational.
A number of UCLA swimmers have already recorded NCAA B Cuts so far this season, including Claire Grover (50 free), Rachel Rhee (50 free), Gabby Dang (50 free, 100 fly), Sophia Kosturos (100 free, 100 back, 100 fly), Eva Carlson (100 breast, 200 breast), Bailey Herbert (100 breast, 200 breast), Sam Baron (100 breast, 100 fly, 200 fly, 200 IM), Delaney Smith (200 IM), Ella Kirschke (200 IM), and Paige MacEachern (400 IM, 500 free).
