Women's Basketball Adds Game at Stony Brook

Dec 16, 2021

PULLMAN, Wash. – The Washington State women's basketball team has added a non-conference road game for this Sunday, Dec. 19, at Stony Brook in Long Island, New York. Tip-off against the Seawolves is set for 11 a.m. PT and will stream live on ESPN+.

The contest against Stony Brook was added to WSU's schedule after Sunday's originally-scheduled game at Cornell was canceled due to COVID-19 concerns and safety protocols at Cornell University.

This will be the first meeting between Washington State and Stony Brook. The Seawolves are off to an 8-1 start this season with wins over Rutgers and St. John's. SBU won the American East Conference Tournament last season to earn a bid to the 2021 NCAA Tournament. The Seawolves lost to fellow Pac-12 Conference member Arizona, 79-44, in the first round.

Washington State kicks off a two-game road trip to close out non-conference play this weekend. The Cougars take on No. 20/22 BYU this Saturday, Dec. 18. Tip-off from Provo, Utah is set for 11 a.m. PT. WSU will then fly cross-country overnight to Long Island, New York to take on Stony Brook this Sunday, Dec. 19, at 11 a.m. PT.
