Ross, a veteran catcher and two-time World Series champion, was named the Cubs' 61st skipper on Oct. 24, 2019, and enters his third season in the role in 2022.

He spent 15 seasons as a player in the big leagues, with Ross helping the Boston Red Sox (2013) and Chicago Cubs (2016) each win the World Series, the latter ending a 108-year title drought. In his first year as Cubs manager, he led Chicago to the NL Central Division title.

Ross played collegiately for Auburn and Florida from 1996-98, highlighting his collegiate career with a walk-off home run vs. Florida State in the NCAA Regionals—helping Auburn reach the 1997 College World Series. After transferring to Florida, Ross and the Gators reached Omaha again in 1998. He was drafted by the Los Angeles Dodgers in both 1995 and '98, before making his Major League debut in 2002.

Ross has previously spent time as a color analyst on ESPN's Major League Baseball coverage. Off the field, Ross appeared on Season 24 of Dancing with the Stars, and authored the New York Times best-selling book Teammate: My Journey in Baseball and a World Series for the Ages.
