Hockey Faces No. 11 Huskies in Midweek Matchup

Jan 10, 2022

BOSTON, Mass. – Sun Devil Hockey (12-12-0) makes the second stop in Boston as it continues a two-week road trip with a lone game against the No. 11 Northeastern Huskies (15-4-1) on Tuesday night at 5 p.m. MST in Matthews Arena. Although fans will not be allowed in attendance, the game can be streamed on College Sports Live.

The Sun Devils recently added a single game on Jan. 11th with the Huskies as they traveled out east for two away series at BU and RIT. ASU is currently 2-2 in the new year with a sweep of No. 9 Cornell at home, then being swept on the road by BU.

ASU's offense saw lots of opportunities last weekend, putting up a total of 65 shots but could only get three of them through. Sean Dhooghe, Tim Theocharidis, and Josh Doan each tallied a goal for the maroon and gold. With his seventh goal of the season against BU, Doan leads all NCAA freshman in scoring with 22 points (7G, 15A).

After a stellar performance against the No. 9 ranked Big Red, sophomore netminder Cole Brady earned the start in net for game one against BU. In between the pipes for game two was junior netminder Ben Kraws who made his 13th start for the Sun Devils.

Northeastern will be looking to extend their eight-game winning streak to nine, which started with two overtime wins over BU, and most recently, a home sweep over Long Island. Huskies goaltender Devon Levi stopped all 44 shots faced for back-to-back shutouts against LIU.
