Madelyn Robinson To Return For Another Season With Utah Volleyball
SALT LAKE CITY - Utah volleyball outside hitter Madelyn Robinson will return for the 2022 season as a fifth year student for the program, using her extra year of eligibility by means of an NCAA COVID-19 season of competition waiver. Robinson is coming off an All-Pac-12 and All-Region season this past fall as a senior for the Utes.
Robinson's selection to the All-Pac-12 team comes after posting 2.92 kills per set in Pac-12 play, which ranked second on the team behind all-time kills leader Dani Drews. Robinson averaged 3.01 kills per set overall in the 2021 season and totaled 340 kills en route to earning a spot on the AVCA Pacific South All-Region team. She totaled seven double-doubles, which included four coming in conference play. During her senior year, Robinson recorded a career high in kills (20), a career high in digs (16) and posted a career high in blocks (5).
She reached 10 or more kills in 19 matches this season to aid Utah's offense. Robinson improved averages in kills per set, aces per set, digs per set, blocks per set, and points per set from last year's spring season.
Robinson played a crucial role in pushing the program to its sixth-straight NCAA Tournament appearance and a third-place finish in the Pac-12 for the third consecutive season. Utah finished 22-9 overall and went 14-6 in Pac-12 play.
