BERKELEY – Cal men's tennis starts the dual-match season on the road as the Golden Bears play at Tulsa on Saturday at 6 p.m. CT and at Tulane on Monday at 1 p.m. CT.
Cal battles the Golden Hurricane at the Michael D. Case Tennis Center in Oklahoma, while the Bears take on the Green Wave at the City Park Tennis Center in New Orleans. Tulsa posted an 11-12 record in 2020-21. Kody Pearson, now a senior, competed in the NCAA Singles Championship, falling in the opening round of 64. Tulane finished the 2020-21 season with a 15-8 record and a run to the second round of the NCAA tournament.

Cal earned two rankings in the most recent ITA doubles poll, with the pair of Yuta Kikuchi and Carl Emil Overbeck at No. 15 and the duo of Kikuchi and Philip Hjorth at No. 58.
The Tulsa team of Connor Di Mari and Kody Pearson is ranked 60th in doubles.

Cal finished unbeaten in singles for the second consecutive day to close out the Hawaii Invitational on Saturday, Jan. 8, at the UH Tennis Complex in Honolulu.
The Bears did not lose a set in five singles wins, including in senior Yuta Kikuchi's 6-1, 6-1 win over Hawaii's Axel Labunie. The Bears went 1-2 in doubles Saturday, with the 15th-ranked pair of Kikuchi and freshman Carl Emil Overbeck beating BYU's Wally Thayne and Zach Fuchs, 8-4.
