LOS ANGELES – The UCLA women's tennis team is set to ring in 2022 with an appearance at the Freeman Memorial Championships in Las Vegas. UNLV and its Fertitta Tennis Complex will serve as hosts for the three-day event, set to begin Friday.

Joining the Bruins and Rebels in the six-team field are Florida, Oklahoma State, Pepperdine and Stanford.

The 2021 installment of the event was canceled, making this year's chapter the 19th since it began in 2003. Stella Sampras Webster's team has twice had the last woman standing in the singles draw, with Jennifer Brady winning in 2015 and Ena Shibahara in 2018. On the doubles side, three combinations of Bruins have won the ultimate prize: Daniela Bercek/Riza Zalameda in 2005, Courtney Dolehide/Pamela Montez in 2012 and Shibahara/Jada Hart in 2018.
