SAN FRANCISCO – California sophomore Destin Lasco was named the Pac-12 Men's Swimmer of the Month for December after an impressive performance at the Minnesota Invitational on Dec. 1-4 in Minneapolis.

Lasco earned two wins and posted a runner-up finish in his three individual events at the midseason invitational. The reigning Pac-12 Freshman of the Year won the 200-yard backstroke in 1:39.24, the fastest time in the nation this season, and the 200 individual medley in 1:41.53, the second-fastest time in the NCAA this season. Both times were just shy of NCAA "A" cuts.

Lasco also swam in five relay events in Minnesota, helping the Golden Bears to a runner-up finish in the 400 freestyle relay (3:05.97) and third place in the 400 medley relay (2:48.80).
