Track & Field News Release

BERKELEY – Cal track & field's star hammer thrower Camryn Rogers keeps piling on the accolades, this time with a global women's hammer ranking of No. 8 from renowned publication Track & Field News. She is the youngest woman on the list by four years, as well as the only current collegiate athlete.

"Camryn never ceases to surprise me," said Director of Track & Field/Cross Country Robyne Johnson. "She absolutely defines hard work and perseverance."

Rogers, who followed up her second straight (and collegiate-record) NCAA hammer throw championship with a fifth-place finish at the Tokyo Olympic Games in 2021, was also named to The Bowerman Preseason Watch List earlier this month.

Cal track & field's 2022 campaign begins on Saturday, Jan. 22 at the Dr. Martin Luther King Jr. Invite in Albuquerque, New Mexico.
