Utah Earns Top Spot In ASUN Preseason Poll; Two Utes Named Preseason All-Conference

ATLANTA – The University of Utah Lacrosse team was voted in a tie for first in the Preseason ASUN Men's Lacrosse Coaches Poll with the Utes landing Tyler Bradbury and Samuel Cambere on the preseason all-conference team.

The 2022 season will mark Utah's first year as part of the ASUN Conference after announcing its membership in February of 2021. The Utes and Air Force tied for the top spot in the this year's preseason coaches poll, both receiving 31 points, with Robert Morris, Bellarmine, Detroit Mercy and Cleveland State rounding out the remainder of the poll.

Bradbury, a sophomore from Oak Park, Calif., has played in 15 career games at the attack position. He started in all 11 games in 2021, leading the team in points (39) and assists (25), scoring 14 total goals.

He ranked 16th in the NCAA in assists per game (2.27) in 2021, recording two-or-more assists in nine of Utah's 11 games. Bradbury dropped a career-high six assists in Utah's win over Westminster in addition to his career-best eight points (2 goals).

Cambere played in all 11 games in 2021, starting two, recording a team-high 14 caused turnovers along with six points (2 goals, 4 assists) and 52 ground balls. He has played in 32 career games as a Ute after coming to Salt Lake City from Flower Mound, Texas.

In 2021, Cambere scored the game winner against Westminster, adding five ground balls in addition to a season-high seven ground balls and two assists against Robert Morris. He was a College Crosse All-Freshman Team selection in 2019 after starting in all 15 games, setting the school record in single-game ground balls (8 vs. Detroit Mercy) and caused turnovers (5 vs. Mercer).

The Utes officially get the 2022 season started on Saturday, Feb. 5 when they host Denver in Rice-Eccles Stadium at 1 p.m. MT. Season tickets are available for $30 and can be purchased at this link.
