Cats Gear Up for Lumberjack Team Challenge

FLAGSTAFF, Ariz. – Arizona Track and Field will travel to Flagstaff, Ariz. to compete in their second meet of the season in the Lumberjack Team Challenge on Friday. The competition will start at 1:00 p.m MST with Katie Daily for women's pole vault and Tiana Poirier-Shelton for women's long jump. The running events will kick off at 4:00 p.m. MST starting with Dominic Gehr running the 60m hurdles.

36 athletes will compete in the Lumberjack Team Challenge, including Johnnie Mitchell, Grace Driskill, and Tanner Hagstrom who will be competing in their first meet of the season.

Last week, the Wildcats competed at the Texas Tech Invitational where multiple athletes put up top 10 NCAA marks in their respective events. Jordan Geist threw the third best shot put in the NCAA with a 20.59m (67-6.75). Samantha Noennig also threw a top 10 mark with a shot put throw of 16.74m (54-11.25). Shannon Meisberger logged an impressive sixth best 400m time of 54.09 in her first meet of the season.
