USC Women's Volleyball Signs Transfers Skylar Fields, Lindsey Miller

Jan 21, 2022

LOS ANGELES – The USC women's volleyball program has signed outside hitter Skylar Fields (Missouri City, Texas/Ridge Point HS) and middle blocker Lindsey Miller (San Diego, Calif./Cathedral Catholic HS) as transfers to join the Trojans in 2022, head coach Brad Keller announced on Friday, Jan. 21.
"We are thrilled to welcome Skylar and Lindsey to the Trojan Family," said Keller. "Not only do they fill immediate needs for us, they each bring truly valuable experience to the court and will make great impacts on the success of our team."
Fields was the No. 1-ranked recruit according to PrepVolleyball in 2018 and played three seasons at Texas where she was a third-team AVCA All-American in 2021. Miller was PrepVolleyball's No. 42 Senior Ace in 2019 and spent the last two seasons at Notre Dame where she was the AVCA East Coast Region's Freshman of the Year in 2020-21.
"Skylar brings a ton of physicality and experience to our team," said Keller. "She is a fierce and constant competitor and plays the game of volleyball at a different level. Skylar has accomplished so much as a student-athlete and I expect her competitive personality and on-court instincts to help elevate our program."
In three seasons with the Longhorns, Fields played in 85 matches (298 sets) and collected 926 kills (3.11 kps) with a .333 hitting percentage. She also tallied 124 digs and had 201 blocks (0.67 bps). She produced 52 double-digit kills performances and logged a career-best 26 kills in a five-set win over Kansas on Oct. 9, 2021. She is a three-time AVCA All-Southwest Region selection and received All-America honorable mention as a sophomore in 2020-21. Fields was chosen as the Southwest Region and the Big 12's Freshman of the Year in 2019 and is a three-time All-Big 12 honoree. She also earned All-Freshman Team honors in 2019 and is a member of the Big 12 Conference Commissioner's Honor Roll.
"Lindsey is the kind of offensive-minded middle blocker that thrives in our systems," said Keller. "She is especially lethal when she attacks on the slide and imposes her will at the net on defense. Lindsey had great success at her previous program, but we are beyond excited to bring her back home to Southern California."
Miller played in 44 matches (161 sets) for the Fighting Irish and produced 296 kills (1.84 kps) with 164 blocks. As a freshman in 2020-21, Miller was tabbed for AVCA East Coast Region first-team honors and was the region's Freshman of the Year. She was also named to the All-ACC Second Team and the ACC All-Freshman Team. Miller received ACC All-Academic laurels and was also named the conference's Freshman of the Week on Oct. 6, 2020, when she collected 20 kills in two matches against Syracuse. In her first year, Miller's .442 hitting percentage ranked fourth in the ACC and was 11th in the nation.
The Trojans (15-15, 10-10 Pac-12) finished 2021 in seventh place in the final Pac-12 standings. Under second-year head coach Brad Keller, USC signed the nation's top-ranked incoming freshman class of recruits according to, which includes Adonia Faumuina (Long Beach, Calif./Long Beach Poly HS), Jordan Middleton (Phoenix, Ariz./Hamilton HS), Gala Trubint (San Diego, Calif./Scripps Ranch HS).
