Bears Fall To No. 3 Arizona

With 21 points, Jordan Shepherd scored in double figures for the 13th straight game.

BERKELEY (AP) – Christian Koloko had 19 points, 13 rebounds and three blocks to lead No. 3 Arizona past California 96-71 on Sunday afternoon in Haas Pavilion.

Bennedict Mathurin added 14 points and eight rebounds for Arizona (16-1, 6-0 Pac-12), while Oumar Ballo scored 14 and Kerr Krissa had 13 with four 3-pointers.

Jordan Shepherd scored 21 points for the Golden Bears (9-10, 2-6), his 13th consecutive game in double figures.

The Wildcats had a 14-point lead six minutes into the game, were ahead 21 at halftime and led by as much as 29 points after the break.

Cal made its best push coming out of halftime, making 5-of-7 from the floor during an 11-6 run that included four points from Shepherd and a 3-pointer by Jalen Celestine.

Cal coach Mark Fox was ejected in the first half after picking up two technical fouls, and assistant coach Chris Harriman led the team the rest of the game.

Cal travels to Los Angeles to face No. 9 UCLA on Thursday and No. 16 USC on Saturday. Both contests will be televised by the Pac-12 Network.
