Buffs Add Lister for the Fall
BOULDER – Head coach Danny Sanchez added another piece to the Colorado 2022 soccer roster with the announcement of the signing of forward Leila Lister on Tuesday
Lister will join the Buffs in the fall, coming over from the United Kingdom. She will be the fourth international student-athlete on the roster for 2022, joining Jenny Beyer (Germany), Hannah Duguid (Canada) and Ellen Jones (UK).
"We feel that Leila has the tools and drive to have a real impact on our program," Sanchez explained. "She is a natural goal scorer who is in a fantastic training environment with the first team at Reading FC. We look forward to getting her to Boulder this summer."
Lister, who made her WSL debut for Reading FC in December, had scored six goals in five games with the U/21 squad before her call-up. Lister has led her academy team in scoring the last three seasons. She has also played at the UEFA European Qualifiers in October for Scotland's U19 team and participated in England's ID camp in the 2020/21 season.
Previously, Lister was the captain of the Independent Schools FA U16. She also helped Tilehurst Panthers FC win the U14 National Cup.
Lister chose Colorado over offers from Illinois, Louisville and LSU amongst others. She joins an incoming class that has been ranked No. 8 in the country by Top Drawer Soccer.
