Jan 26, 2022

PULLMAN, Wash. -- Washington State University Head Tennis Coach Raquel Atawo announced Wednesday that Eva Alvarez Sande has singed a National Letter of Intent and will join the Cougar Tennis program in the Fall of 2022.

"We are really looking forward to our incoming class of 2022," said Atawo. "Eva will add a tremendous amount of dedication and desire to build the WSU tennis program. Her personality stuck out from the beginning. Not only is she a great student and athlete, she has great family support which provides her with the foundation to succeed."

Alvarez Sande hails from Coruña, Galicia, Spain, where she was a top junior player, having won the Galician Under 16 and Under 18 titles in 2020. She was a Galician Women's Championship finalist in both 2020 and 2021, and also in 2021 reached the finals at the IBP women's national tournament in Leon and the ITF J5 event in Madrid.

Alvarez Sande joins Yura Nakagawa from Japan in the Cougars' 2022 incoming class.
