NFL Playoffs Come To End For Pro Bears

Alex Mack and the 49ers reached the NFC Championship Game before their season ended with a 20-17 loss to the Los Angeles Rams.

LOS ANGELES – The NFL Playoffs came to an end for former Cal football players on Sunday when Alex Mack and the San Francisco 49ers were edged by the Los Angeles Rams, 20-17, in the NFC Championship Game at SoFi Stadium on Sunday. The 49ers held a 17-7 lead heading into the final period but were unable to hold off the Rams' fourth-quarter comeback. Mack started at center in the contest.

Mack was one of eight Pro Bears including four on active rosters to have started the NFL Playoffs and one of 26 affiliated with Cal football to end the 2021 regular season with an NFL organization including 16 on active rosters, two on injured/reserve lists, four on practice squads and four as members of coaching staffs (4).

Four former Cal players – Keenan Allen, Bryan Anger, Cameron Jordan and Aaron Rodgers – have been selected to play in the NFL's Pro Bowl at Allegiant Stadium in Las Vegas this Sunday, Feb. 6 (1 pm MST/12 pm PST, ESPN).
