No. 3 UCLA Coasts to 17-3 Win Over LIU

ANN ARBOR, Mich. -- No. 3 UCLA (8-0, 1-0 MPSF) coasted to a 17-3 win over LIU (2-2) at the Michigan Invitational on Sunday morning at Michigan's Canham Natatorium. This was the first-ever meeting between the two teams.

The Bruins were led by senior Katrina Drake and freshman Grace Myers, each with hat tricks. It was the third hat trick of the year for Drake and the second for Myers. Senior Maddie Musselman, junior Abbi Hill and freshman Molly Renner added two goals apiece.

Redshirt junior goalkeeper Georgia Phillips got the start in the cage and went the distance, registering 10 saves while allowing three goals. She also tallied one steal.

Paola Dominguez led the Sharks with two goals on 13 shots while goalkeeper Julia Zebak registered eight saves while surrendering 17 goals.

> Sophomore Anneliese Miller scored her first of the game on a penalty shot (5:58).
> Redshirt sophomore Alex Peros found the back of the net (4:02) to extend the lead to 11-1.
> Myers added her second of the game at even strength (3:12) off a feed from freshman Emma Lineback.
> The Bruins would score again (0:02) on a goal from Renner to end the scoring in the period with UCLA taking a 13-1 lead into the final quarter.

> The Bruins outscored the Sharks 4-2 in the fourth period to provide the 12-6 final score.
> Junior Fiona Kuesis scored her first of the game on a power play (7:38).
> LIU would post a second goal of the game (6:58), but Hill would immediately answer with her second of the contest (6:44) to make it 15-2.
> After another goal by the Sharks (5:59), freshman Nicole Struss netted her first of the game (4:54).
> Myers would complete her hat trick (4:04) off a feed from Renner to end the scoring at 17-3.

The Bruins will face No. 10 Michigan at 12:30 p.m. PT later today in the final game of the Michigan Invitational in Ann Arbor, Mich.
