Beavers Adds Another Preseason Honor
BERKELEY – California junior outfielder Dylan Beavers was named a preseason All-American by the National Collegiate Baseball Writers Association (NCBWA) on Tuesday, earning a spot on the organization's first team.
Beavers has now been named a 2022 preseason All-American by five different organizations, including D1Baseball, Baseball America, Collegiate Baseball Newspaper, Perfect Game and the NCBWA. The Paso Robles, California, native enters his junior season with high expectations after developing into one of the nation's top outfielders in 2021.
As a sophomore, Beavers led the Pac-12 in home runs (18) while slashing .303/.401/.630 in 55 games played and started. He also led Cal in runs (44), doubles (11), triples (2), RBI (49), total bases (133) and walks (32) while swiping 10 bases. The resume earned Beavers spots on the NCBWA All-America third team, the American Baseball Coaches Association (ACBA) All-West Region first team, Baseball America's Freshman All-America second team and the All-Pac-12 first team.
Beavers capped 2021 with a summer split between playing for the USA Baseball Collegiate National Team and in the Cape Cod League.
