Follow National Signing Day Wednesday
BERKELEY – Fans can follow National Signing Day online via Cal's social media channels and CalBears.com on Wednesday, Feb. 2. Cal will announce any additions to its current recruiting class of 14 throughout the day before activities commence with a one-hour virtual National Signing Day event from 6-7 pm PT featuring exclusive insight from Travers Family Head Football Coach Justin Wilcox and other members of his coaching staff, as well as student-athletes and more.
Cal's 2022 recruiting class increased its current total to 14 on January 20 when Wilcox announced the addition of three mid-year enrollees to the Golden Bears program from the transfer portal in DE Xavier Carlton (Utah), QB Jack Plummer (Purdue) and ILB Jackson Sirmon (Washington). All three have started the 2022 spring semester at Cal along with junior college transfer WR Mason Starling (College of San Mateo) and true freshman RB Jaydn Ott (Norco HS).
The first 11 players of the class including Starling and Ott were signed in December of 2021 and all members of the class other than the five that began in January are scheduled to arrive on campus prior to the beginning of the team's 2022 season.
Wilcox is scheduled to be a guest on a Pac-12 Network/Sirius XM Pac-12 Channel 373 simulcast on Wednesday at 10:45 am PT, and will be available to the media via Zoom for a press conference at 2:30 pm PT. The press conference will be recorded and published to CalBears.com and YouTube.com/CalBears, as well as distributed via Cal's social media channels, shortly after its conclusion.
