Glynn and Forejtek Named CU Athletes of the Week, Presented by Arrow

Feb 1, 2022

BOULDER-Abbey Glynn of women's track and field Filip Forejtek of men's skiing earned the honors of CU Athletes of the Week presented by Arrow for the final week of January.

Track and field hosted the Colorado Invitational in the indoor practice facilities on Friday and Saturday. Glynn finished in second place in the women's 400 with a time of 53.00. This was the second best finish in school history at the event. Glynn also ran the anchor leg for the 4X4 relay which the team finished with a time of 3:37.77, the second fastest in school history. Both of these marks were under the previous records at the facility. The redshirt sophomore currently sits at 18th in the NCAA in the 400.

CU men's skiing hit the slopes this past week at the Utah Invitational in Park City, Utah. Forejtek finished second in last Monday's giant slalom race and first in Tuesday's slalom race. This was Forejtek's second win of the season and third and fourth podiums of the season. He became the 15th men's alpine skier to win a slalom and giant slalom race in the same season, as he won the giant slalom race at the previous week's Montana State Invitational in Bozeman, Mont. The senior now has 17 career podium appearances, the fourth most among men's alpine skiers and 14th most overall in CU history.

Next up for track and field is the WSU Combined Events Open and Invitational in Spokane, Wash. The event will take place from Thursday to Saturday. The Nordic ski teams are participating in two meets in Fairbanks, Alaska this week while the alpine teams are off until mid-February.
