No. 7 USC Men's Volleyball Faces No. 13 UC San Diego at Home, No. 3 Long Beach State On the Road

The USC men's volleyball team hopes to extend its winning streak this week as it faces off against No. 13 UC San Diego on Wednesday (Feb. 2) at the Galen Center, and then on the road versus No. 3 Long Beach State on Friday (Feb. 4) at the Pyramid in Long Beach, Calif.

The Tritons are 3-2 on the season, most recently falling to New Jersey Institute of Technology 3-2 (Jan. 28), but defeating Princeton 3-2 (Jan. 29). 

The Beach is 5-1 on the season, suffering their first lost on Jan. 29 in a five-set match against Penn State.

Wednesday's match at the Galen Center will be broadcast on the Pac-12 Network with Brian Webber on the call. Friday's road match will be available via live stream (all links found on the men's volleyball schedule page at

USC is ranked 7th in the current AVCA Division I-II Top 15 poll.  UC San Diego is ranked No. 13, and Long Beach State is ranked No. 3. 

The Trojans hold a 44-11 record in its series with UC San Diego dating back to 1982. USC is 6-4 in its last 10 matches against the Tritons and are looking to add two more tallies in the win column. 

Outside hitter Kyle McCauley is third nationally in kills per set (4.38), second in attacks per set (9.62) and fourth in points per set (5.02).

As a team, UC San Diego is third nationally in attacks per set (28.48).

USC is 62-54 against Long Beach State all-time dating back to their first match in 1970. The Trojans are 3-7 in their last 10 matches against the Beach. 

Outside hitter Alex Nikolov is fourth nationally in kills per set (4.27) and third in points per set (5.07). Aidan Knipe is second nationally in assists per set (11.27). 

As a team, Long Beach State is second nationally in kills per set (12.86), third in hitting percentage (0.383) and third in assists per set (12.00).
