BERKELEY – California is back at home for the first time since Jan. 23 to host Washington in a Pac-12 men's basketball contest at Haas Pavilion. Tip-off is slated for 8 p.m. PT and the game will be televised on the Pac-12 Networks.
The game is Cal's fourth of five in a 10-day span from Jan. 27-Feb. 5. The Golden Bears (9-13, 2-9 Pac-12) have lost eight in a row, most recently including a gritty 57-50 defeat at Stanford on Tuesday. Washington (11-8, 6-3) has won its past two games, defeating Colorado and Utah at home last week. Cal and Washington clashed three weeks ago in Seattle on Jan. 12 when the Huskies came away with a 64-55 win.
All fans 3 and older must either show proof of full vaccination or a negative COVID-19 test to enter the facility.

  • Cal is 2-0 against Washington in Berkeley under head coach Mark Fox.
  • The Bears were without senior forward Andre Kelly (ankle) at Stanford on Tuesday. It was the first game Kelly has missed in his career, snapping a streak of 113 consecutive games played. Kelly is averaging 13.4 points and 8.4 rebounds per game this season.
  • Cal limited Stanford to 57 points Tuesday, marking the ninth time the Bears have held their opponent to 60 points or less this season.
  • Among Pac-12 teams, Cal is second in 3-point field-goal percentage defense (30.1%), fifth in scoring defense (65.5) and seventh in field-goal percentage defense (41.8%).
  • Junior center Lars Thiemann started in place of Kelly at Stanford on Tuesday and scored 11 points on 3-3 shooting from the floor and 5-5 shooting at the free-throw line while pulling down six rebounds in 31 minutes played.
  • Cal is 9-4 at home this season, having reeled off nine consecutive wins at Haas Pavilion from Nov. 15-Jan. 2.
  • Graduate guard Jordan Shepherd has scored in double figures in 15 of the past 16 games and 18 times overall this season. He's averaging a team-best 14.3 points per game and 15.3 PPG in Pac-12 play.
  • The trio of Jalen Celestine, Kuany Kuany and Sam Alajiki have provided an offensive boost recently. Celestine is fourth on the team with 7.2 points per game in Pac-12 play, Kuany is averaging 7.2 PPG in his past seven games and Alajiki scored a career-high 11 points at No. 7 UCLA on Jan. 27 while shooting 57.7 percent (15-26) from 3-point range on the season.

Cal welcomes Washington State to Haas Pavilion at 1 p.m. PT on Saturday. The game will be broadcast on the Pac-12 Networks.
