Stanford selected first in 2022 Pac-12 Women's Lacrosse preseason coaches poll

SAN FRANCISCO - STANFORD was voted first in the 2022 Pac-12 Women's Lacrosse preseason coaches poll as announced by the Conference office today. The Cardinal garnered 24 points and four 1st-place votes to finish atop the poll.

Last spring, Stanford (11-1, 7-0) became the first Pac-12 Women’s Lacrosse program to win both the league's regular-season title and Conference tournament championship in the same season. The Cardinal, which are ranked No. 13 in the IWLCA preseason national poll, return reigning Pac-12 Attacker of the Year Ali Baiocco and welcome the nation's No. 1 recruiting class according to Inside Lacrosse.

COLORADO, which reached the 2021 Pac-12 Tournament final, was selected to finish second in the coaches poll with 20 points, one first-place vote and three second-place votes. 

ARIZONA STATE tallied 17 points to rank third in the preseason poll after reaching the 10-win mark for the first time in program history last spring. 2021 regular-season runner-up USC slotted fourth, CALIFORNIA was voted fifth and OREGON rounded out the poll in sixth. 

The 2022 Pac-12 Women’s Lacrosse season begins with seven matches the weekend of Feb. 11-13, including Stanford visiting No. 3 Syracuse on opening day Friday, Feb. 11. For more information, including television schedules, please visit pac-12.com.

Arizona State will host the Pac-12 Tournament for the first time at Sun Devil Stadium in Tempe from April 28-May 1, 2022.

The following are the results of the preseason coaches’ poll. Five points are awarded for a first-place vote, four points for a second-place vote, three for a third-place vote, etc. First-place votes are in parentheses. Coaches are not allowed to vote for their own teams.
