USC's Isaiah Mobley Named A Karl Malone Award Top 10 Finalist

USC junior forward Isaiah Mobley has been named a finalist on the 10-man watch list for the 2021-22 Karl Malone Power Forward Of The Year Award, it was announced by the Naismith Memorial Basketball Hall of Fame today (Feb. 3).  The award, in its eighth year, is named after NBA Hall of Famer Karl Malone and honors the top power forwards in Division I basketball, as determined by a national committee of top college basketball personnel.

Mobley has helped lead No. 19 USC to an 18-3 record which is tied for the 10th-best among all Division I team.  Mobley has averaged 14.9 points, 8.5 rebounds and 3.3 assists per game.  He leads the Trojans in all three categories and is one of only four players from power conferences to lead his team in points, rebounds and assists.  Mobley also leads USC in three-point baskets made (33), free throws made (57) and steals (18).

Mobley is fifth in scoring and tied for first in rebounding among Pac-12 players.

Previous winners of the Karl Malone Power Forward of the Year Award include Drew Timme, Gonzaga (2021), Obi Toppin, Dayton (2020), Zion Williamson, Duke (2019), Deandre Ayton, Arizona (2018), Johnathan Motley, Baylor (2017), Georges Niang, Iowa State (2016) and Montrezl Harrell, Louisville (2015).
