Five USC Women’s Volleyball Athletes Named to Pac-12 Honor Roll

SAN FRANCISCO – Five USC women's volleyball student-athletes including junior libero Keila Barra (Pasadena, Calif./San Marino HS), senior libero Kylie Baumert (Twin Falls, Idaho/Twin Falls HS), graduate setter Sarah Nelson (Los Gatos, Calif./Los Gatos HS), junior outside hitter Kalen Owes (Phoenix, Ariz./Desert Vista HS), and junior opposite hitter Emilia Weske (Potsdam, Germany/Leibniz Gymnasium) were named to the Pac-12 Conference's 2021 Fall Academic Honor Roll on Thursday, Feb. 3.
 
A total of 909 student-athletes throughout the Pac-12 were recognized for their work in the classroom. Any student-athlete on their respective team roster with a cumulative grade-point average of 3.3-or-above, and who has served at least one year in residence at the institution, is eligible for the distinction.
 
The 2021 Fall Academic Honor Roll includes 825 student-athletes who participated in the Conference-sponsored sports of men's & women's cross country, football, men's & women's soccer, and women's volleyball.
 
As approved by the Conference's Faculty Athletics Representatives, any student-athlete competing in an NCAA-sponsored or emerging sport at a Pac-12 institution, regardless of league sponsorship, is also eligible for Academic Honor Roll recognition and includes 84 student-athletes from the fall sports of field hockey, triathlon, and men's water polo. 
 
The Women of Troy (15-15, 10-10 Pac-12) finished in seventh place in the final Pac-12 standings. Under second-year head coach Brad Keller, the Trojans signed the nation's top-ranked incoming class of recruits according to PrepVolleyball.com, which includes Adonia Faumuina (Long Beach, Calif./Long Beach Poly HS), Jordan Middleton (Phoenix, Ariz./Hamilton HS), Gala Trubint (San Diego, Calif./Scripps Ranch HS) and Rylie McGinest (Long Beach, Calif./Long Beach Poly HS).
