USC Men’s Water Polo Has Five Trojans On 2021 Pac-12 Fall Academic Honor Roll

Feb 7, 2022

USC men's water polo has had five Trojans emerge with academic accolades from the Pac-12 Conference, as their solid GPAs have earned them spots on the 2021 Pac-12 Fall Academic Honor Roll. For seniors Matt Harrison, Alexander Lansill and Bennett Winther, the honors cap off their Trojan careers as they are due to graduate in May 2022. Joining them on the Honor Roll are junior Marcus Longton and redshirt sophomore Henry Saunders.

Harrison, Lansill, Saunders and Winther are all business administration majors, while Winther picks up a double degree with economics. Longton, meanwhile, is majoring in economics and data science.

Saunders in the only newcomer to the list, as Harrison, Lansill, Longton and Winther all earned spots on the 2020 Honor Roll as well.

Together, the group of Trojans helped USC both in and out of the water in 2021, as the team reached the NCAA title game for the 16th time in the past 17 seasons. They are five of 35 USC student-athletes to have earned a place on the 2021 Fall Academic Honor Roll.

The year's Fall Honor Roll includes 825 student-athletes who participated in the Conference sponsored sports of men's & women's cross country, football, men's & women's soccer, and women's volleyball. As approved by the Conference's Faculty Athletics Representatives, any student-athlete competing in an NCAA-sponsored or emerging sport at a Pac-12 institution, regardless of league sponsorship, is
also eligible for Academic Honor Roll recognition and includes 84 student-athletes from the fall sports of field hockey, triathlon, and men's water polo.

Any student-athlete on their respective team roster with a cumulative grade-point average of 3.3 or above, and who has served at least one year in residence at the institution, is eligible for the distinction.
