Chiles Honored as Pac-12 Freshman of Week

UCLA's Jordan Chiles has been named the Pac-12 Freshman/Newcomer of the Week after her all-around win and perfect 10 on floor against Utah.

Chiles, who captured an Olympic silver medal with the 2020 U.S. team, won the all-around with a career-high score of 39.700 and scored her first career perfect 10 as the Bruins posted their best team score of the season, 197.650. The freshman from Vancouver, Wash. set or tied career-best marks on all four events, scoring 9.875 on vault to tie for sixth, 9.925 on uneven bars to place third, 9.900 on balance beam to tie for third, and 10.0 on floor to finish first.

Chiles' all-around score was the highest by a UCLA freshman in 17 years, and the perfect 10 was UCLA's first since Mar. 8, 2020.

Joining Chiles as Pac-12 weekly award-winners were Oregon State's Jade Carey (Gymnast of the Week) and Madi Dagen (Coaches Choice), and Utah's Maile O'Keefe (Specialist of the Week).

No. 16 UCLA will compete next on Saturday, Feb. 12 at 2pm at No. 19 Stanford.
