LOS ANGELES – This weekend the UCLA swim and dive will participate in its final dual meet before championship season, welcoming in crosstown rival USC for a two-day competition starting on Friday.
Day one of the dual meet starts at 2:00 p.m. on Friday at Spieker Aquatics Center, with the second day commencing at 12:00 p.m. on Saturday afternoon.
UCLA will honor its nine seniors with a pre-meet ceremony on Saturday. The student-athletes to be honored include Gabrielle Anderson, Sophie Clarkowski, Claire Grover, Abriana Howard, Ella Kirschke, Emily Lo, Bonnie Schmitz, Delaney Smith, and Katie Sulkevich.
Scheduled events for Friday include the 400 medley relay, 1650 freestyle, 100 backstroke, 100 breaststroke, 200 butterfly, 50 freestyle, 200 individual medley, 200 free relay, 1-meter diving, and 3-meter diving.
Saturday's scheduled events include the 200 medley relay, 400 individual medley, 100 freestyle, 200 backstroke, 200 breaststroke, 500 freestyle, 100 butterfly, 400 free relay, and platform diving.
UCLA enters the weekend with a 3-4 record in dual meets and a number of notable performances in multi-school invitationals, including a first-place finish at the UNLV Invitational in December. The Bruins are most recently coming off a pair of hard-fought losses, falling to No. 4 Stanford on Jan. 28 and No. 7 California on Jan. 29.
USC meanwhile enters the competition ranked No. 11 in the latest CSCAA Top-25 and carries a 4-2 dual-meet record. The Trojans are also coming off losses to the Cardinal and Golden Bears.
