Rivalry Meet On Saturday In Tucson

TEMPE, Ariz. – After putting up a new season high, the No. 20 Sun Devil Gymnastics squad is set to compete at Arizona with a Territorial Cup point on the line this Saturday, February 12, at 5 p.m. MST.

Sun Devil Outlook
Arizona State (1-3, 1-2 Pac-12)

  • Last weekend, Sun Devil Gymnastics put up a new season high of 196.550 at Oregon State, consisting of a 49.000-plus on all four events for the first time in the 2022 season.
  • The Gym Devils are looking for their sixth dual-meet victory in a row over the Wildcats. Co-head coaches Jay and Jess Santos have not lost to Arizona in any meet during their tenure, including at the Pac-12 Championships. The Sun Devils lead in the all-time series 34-16-1.
  • On vault, Arizona State's Emily White (9.850), Jada Mangahas (9.875) set new career highs, and Hannah Scharf (9.900) tied her career high against Oregon State.
  • Scharf continues to shine for the Gym Devils. She has scored a 9.800 or better in all but one routine this season, including a 9.900 on each event. She has competed in the all-around in each meet so far, her best score being a 39.500 at Utah to win the all-around title.

Arizona (0-6, 0-3 Pac-12)

  • The Wildcats are ranked No. 36 on Road to Nationals with an average team score of 195.113. Their highest team score came last weekend at Washington where they scored a 196.050.
  • In 2021, Arizona finished third in the Salt Lake NCAA Regional Semifinal, failing to advance into the regional final.
