No. 14 UCLA Finishes Sixth at Lamkin Invitational
RANCH SANTA FE, Calif. – The No. 14 UCLA women's golf team finished the Lamkin Invitational in sixth place out of the 14-team field at 30-over 894 on The Farms Golf Club on Tuesday afternoon. No. 12 San Jose State won the tournament title at 9-over 873.
Junior Emma Spitz posted her second top-10 finish of the season to lead the Bruins, tied for sixth at 3-over 219. Spitz shot a 7-over 79 on day three.
Freshman Caroline Canales rose 10 spots with a 2-over 74 to tie for 16th, earning her second top-20 finish of the season. Canales parred all nine holes on the front nine and would birdie the par-4 10th.
Freshman Zoe Antoinette Campos placed tied for 26th at 10-over 226, shooting a 7-over 79 on day three. Junior Yuki Yoshihara tied for 28th in her return to the links with a 11-over 227. Freshman Alessia Nobilio tied for 49th at 17-over 80.
For their next competition, the Bruins will compete at The Gold Rush on Feb. 28 and March 1 in Seal Beach, Calif. A live scoring link will be provided as details become readily available.
