USC's Laticia Transom, Vaggelis Makrygiannis Earn Pac-12 Swimmer of the Week Honors

Trojan senior Laticia Transom and sophomore Vaggelis Makrygiannis have been named the Pac-12 swimmers of the week following two-win performances this past weekend. 
 
Senior Transom claimed both the 100y free (47.62) and 200y free (1:43.10) during USC's two-day dual against UCLA. The two-time Pac-12 champion posted pool records in both events while also recording a pair of season PR's. 
 
All-American Transom also contributed to four relay wins and three additional pool records – 200y free relay (1:28.75 – pool record), 400y medley relay (3:29.07 – pool record), 400y free relay (3:15.10) and 200y medley relay (1:35.32 – pool record). The senior's individual and relay contributions led USC to a dominant 242-130 victory over the Bruins. 
 
Makrygiannis, a sophomore backstroke specialist, won twice during USC's dual in Salt Lake City against the Utes. He claimed both the 100y back (47.58) and 200y back (1:45.55), while also contributing to Troy's winning 200y medley relay (1:26.50). 
 
Both teams are off this weekend as they gear up for the upcoming Pac-12 Championships that begin Feb. 23 for the women and March 2 for the men in Federal Way, Washington. The diving squad will head to Tucson, Arizona for the 2022 Diving Championships next week starting Feb. 23.
