Ducks Drop a Tough One in Tempe

TEMPE, Ariz. — Oregon dropped a tough one, falling to Arizona State 81-57.
 
How It Happened: The Ducks again started slow and struggled from the field. Oregon shot just 34 percent in the first half, giving up 54 percent from ASU. The Sun Devils made their first three three-pointers before Oregon tied it up after five-straight points from Will Richardson. ASU held a slight lead throughout, as the Ducks continued to struggle from the field. The best play of the half for the Ducks came when Nathan Bittle drew a charge on one end, then converted an alley-oop on the other to bring Oregon within two. At the break, the Ducks trailed by six.
 
The second half was much of the same and things continued to head in the wrong direction for Oregon. ASU started on a 6-0 run and outscored the Ducks 45-27 in the half. Oregon shot just 19 percent from three and 35 percent from the field, hitting 19-of-55 shots in the second. The Sun Devils managed to shoot 57.4 percent and connected on nine-of-20 three-pointers.
