Clean Sweep Makes It Five Straight

EUGENE, Ore. – Oregon extended its winning streak to five matches Saturday behind a dominant clean sweep victory in a 7-0 win over Seattle U in the Student Tennis Center.  
 
How It Happened: For the fifth straight match, the Ducks (6-2) got out to an early advantage by taking the doubles point. Lillian Mould and Myah Petchey quickly finished off their match at the No. 2 spot with a 6-0 win before Allison Mulville and Uxia Martinez Moral won 6-1 at the No. 3 spot to clinch the opening point.
 
The Ducks kept it rolling into singles as their two true freshmen, Karin Young and Sophie Luescher, dominated their matches to make it 3-0. Young put up UO's second point with a 6-0, 6-0 win at No. 6 while Luescher secured a 6-1, 6-0 win at the No. 1 spot. Ares Teixido Garcia followed shortly after with a 6-2, 6-0 win at No. 3 to stay perfect on the dual season in singles and clinch the match for the Ducks.
 
Martinez Moral earned another sweep for the Ducks with a 6-0, 6-1 win at the No. 5 spot before Petchey won 6-2, 6-0 at No. 2 and Mould finished off the clean sweep with a 6-2, 6-2 victory.
