STANFORD, Calif. – Caden Connor connected for a grand slam to highlight a six-run fourth inning as Cal State Fullerton (1-1) evened a three-game series with No. 6 Stanford (1-1) by way of an 11-0 victory on Saturday from Sunken Diamond.

Connor's grand slam was the first of two for the Titans in the fourth as Austin Schell also connected for a solo homer. Schell finished the game 3 for 5 with two runs scored and two RBIs.

Damone Hale, who did not appear in the series opener on Friday, finished 4 for 5 with two runs scored and one RBI while hitting out of the leadoff spot.

Junior Quinn Mathews got the start and took the loss for Stanford, allowing three runs on four hits and two walks with four strikeouts. The Cardinal used five relievers behind Mathews, with Ryan Bruno and Nicolas Lopez combining to record the final two scoreless innings.

Senior left-hander Tyler Stultz earned the victory in his debut for Cal State Fullerton, tossing five scoreless innings and scattering four Cardinal singles with striking out three.

The Titan bullpen, comprised of Jake Vargas, Gavin Meyer, Samuel Gomez and Fynn Chester, faced the minimum and combined to limit Stanford to just one walk over the final four scoreless innings of work.

The two teams will decide the three-game series on Sunday at 1:05 p.m.
