Washington Posts New Team-High Score To Beat Stanford and Denver

FORT WORTH, Texas-- The Washington women's gymnastics team scored a 196.825 in the Metroplex Challenge in Fort Worth, Texas. The GymDawgs were able to put all four events together for a solid showing for the team, as a whole. 
The University of Oklahoma scored a 198.175 to win the meet. Stanford scored a 195.450 to come in third. The University of Denver posted a 195.050. 
In the first rotation, the Huskies started on floor. 9.850 was a popular number as Amara Cunningham, Geneva Thompson, and Isa Weiss all posted the score. 
Vault was next for the GymDawgs. Cunningham showed her strength and composure posting a team-high 9.925. Lana Navarro and Thompson both scored 9.875 and Skylar Killough-Wilhelm scored a 9.850. 
On bars, both Killough-Wilhelm and Taylor Russon score a 9.875 to propel the Dawgs to a total score of 147.500 going into the final rotation.
To round-out the competition, the Huskies scored 49.325 on beam. Brenna Brooks, Lauren Thomas, and Deiah Moody all posted a 9.850 to set the tone for the rest of the event. Killough-Wilhelm, in the anchor spot, scored a team-high 9.925. 
Killough-Wilhelm posted a 39.425 as the all-around competitor for Washington. 
Next, the Huskies host No.4 Utah, at home, at 6:00 p.m. on Monday, Feb. 21 in Alaska Airlines Arena.
