Feb 21, 2022

BERKELEY – California field hockey garnered another accolade for its success in the classroom in the fall of 2021, when Cal was one of 79 teams chosen as an NFHCA Division I National Academic Team on Monday.

The National Field Hockey Coaches Association's award recognizes programs that earned a team grade-point average of 3.0 or higher during the fall semester of the current academic year.

Earlier this month, Cal had a school-record 24 Golden Bears named to the NFHCA Academic Squad and five Bears named NFHCA Scholars of Distinction.

The NFHCA Division I National Scholar-Athlete will be announced on Wednesday to wrap up the National Field Hockey Coaches Association academic honors for the season.
