USC'S PAC-12 SWIMMING AND DIVING CHAMPIONSHIP NOTES
USC won its first-ever Pac-12 title in 2016 with a program-record 1481 points as all 21 swimmers and six divers eligible to score that year did so. USC's previous best Pac-12 finish was second, something it did six times, most recently in 2013 when it scored a then-program best 1418.5 points and lost by 21 to Stanford in the closest finish in conference history. While USC hadn't won a Pac-12 title before 2016, it did win four conference titles during the WCAA era, its last coming in 1985.
The Women of Troy are coming off a fourth-place finish in 2021, scoring 1006 points. USC still managed an impressive finish with only 11 girls entered in the meet, compared to many other Pac-12 schools with 22-man rosters. USC picked up three Pac-12 individual titles during the 2021 championships, with first year swimmer Kaitlyn Dobler claiming both the 100y and 200y breast and sophomore diver Nike Agunbiade capturing women's 3-meter. In 2020, then sophomore Laticia Transom captured the women's 100y and 200y freestyle. This year, she'll look to take back those titles after missing last season.
USC has won at least two Pac-12 individual titles (including diving) in 13 straight years and in 20 of the past 21 seasons and has won at least one title in 27 of the past 28 seasons.
Troy has seven conference relay titles, claiming the 800y free relay in 2003, 2010, 2016 and 2020 and taking the 400y medley relay in 2006 and 2009. In 2020, the Trojans also picked up the first ever conference relay title in the 400y free relay.
USC's 30 Pac-12 women's diving titles (12 on 1-meter, 13 on 3-meter, five on platform) are second most in conference history (behind only Stanford) and most have come under the direction of 23rd-year diving head coach Hongping Li.
