No. 11 USC Women Earn Podium Spot During First Night of Pac-12 Swimming & Diving Championships

The No. 11 Women of Troy finished second in the 200y medley relay to highlight the Trojans' efforts during day one of the 2022 Pac-12 Swimming and Diving Championships.

At the swim championships, hosted at the Weyerhaeuser King County Aquatic Center in Federal Way, Wash., the Women of Troy earned a spot on the podium in the 200y medley relay, finishing second. The Trojan powerhouse quartet of Calypso Sheridan, Kaitlyn Dobler, Anicka Delgado and Laticia Transom blasted a 1:35.40 to secure the silver finish.

During the second race of the evening, USC finished fifth in the 800y medley relay as Transom, Isabelle Odgers, Delgado and Adair Sand combined for a 7:06.61.

At the Pac-12 Diving Championships in Tucson, Ariz., two Trojans advanced to the championship final in the 1-meter springboard competition, hosted this year at the Hillenbrand Aquatic Center at the University of Arizona. Nike Agunbiade led USC with a fourth-place finish on 1-meter, ending the day with 287.60. Joining her in the championship final was sophomore Farrah Volpintesta who took seventh with 263.40.

Four Trojans advanced to the 1-meter consolation final, with USC finishing 3-4-5-8. Newcomer Grace Lee led the Trojans in consols, finishing third with 247.65. Senior Alyson Tam was fourth with 238.90 while Savannah Stocker rounded out fifth with 248.40. Trojan Maddie Huitt finished eighth in the consolation final with 236.40.
 
The Pac-12 meet, which lasts through Saturday, continues Thursday at 10:30 AM PT with the 500 free, 200 individual medley, 50 free and 200 free relay in the pool, as well as women's 3-meter and men's 1-meter diving. Finals from both diving and swimming (6 p.m. PT) will be streamed live on Pac-12.com/Pac-12 Now App.
