Pair of 5-0 Wins to Open 2022 Season
IRVINE, Calif. – The Oregon beach volleyball team opened the ninth season in program history with a pair of 5-0 road wins at Irvine Valley College. The Ducks won eight of 10 matches in straight sets and secured the program's first wins under first-year head coach Jason Dillard.
Oregon's season-opening weekend continues in Northridge, Calif., with two matches Saturday against CSUN at 11 a.m. and Master's at approximately 1 p.m.
In Friday's opener, the Ducks swept their way to victory without dropping a set. The Oregon pairs of Madelyn LaFollette and Daley McClellan (No. 2), Alex Laita and Bea Wetton (No. 4) and Ally Haden and Savannah Siegrist (No. 5) each recorded two straight-set victories.
After a sweep in their opener, Reagan Hope and Brooke Nuneviller tallied a three-set win over Tasha Mae and Jolie Rasmussen in match two at the No. 1 spot in the lineup. At No. 3 pairs, Ashley Schroeder and Ella Tyus dropped the opening set of match two but rallied for the win to keep Irvine Valley (3-2) off the scoreboard.
